The UK aftermarket for exhaust sensors is set to explode as more technologically-advanced and environmentally friendly vehicles reach an age where they fall into the target market of the independent garage sector. Tight European emissions standards mean vehicle manufacturers have introduced new components to their products to monitor and control emissions. Some popular measures, such as Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valves and Lambda (Oxygen) Sensors are already well catered for by the UK aftermarket, but newer types, like Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensors (EGTS) and Exhaust Gas Pressure Sensors (EGPS) are not. It is estimated that nearly a third of new vehicles are fitted with EGTS and EGPS, which plays a vital role in the regeneration of the DPF. Ignoring the role of these components could lead to DPF failure and poor performance.
An awareness of and preparation for the aftermarket care of these components will ensure garages are ready to meet the rising demand. To talk about your requirements, please call European Exhaust and Catalysts to discuss their extensive range of products and training programmes.
