*** IMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT 103R TYPE APPROVAL ***

As of November 13th 2009, the VCA have advised that they will begin enforcement of the Type Approval regulations which came into effect on August 13th 2009.

How does this affect you?

Wholesalers/Distributors and Installers who provide or fit catalytic converters are now potentially liable to a fine if it is found that non type-approved products have been supplied for or installed on a vehicle registered on or after 1st March 2001 (Y registration onwards).

Type approved catalytic converters from EEC are packaged with green bubble-wrap secured with purple/grey 103 tape and have the necessary 103 approval number.

All standard catalytic converter products (non type-approved) that has been supplied from 13th August has been labelled in line with the legislation and clearly states that the product cannot be fitted to vehicles registered on or after 1st March 2001.

You may have stock of products that EEC have classed as category 2 or 3 (the yellow parts in the EEC type approval educational guide) that may now become illegal to sell if they are intended for vehicles registered March 2001 onwards ( Y registration). To help our valued customers, EEC are offering a free RED label (size 63mm x 35mm) with the legally required text to make all suppliers and fitters of EEC products aware that the product can only be used on vehicles registered before March 2001.
