EEC Traffic Light System

The following colour coding becomes applicable from 13/08/2009 and is designed to assist you in the education period.

Part numbers and applications highlighted in RED relate to vehicles registered on or after 01/03/2001. EEC will only supply the type approved catalyst for these applications.

Part numbers and applications highlighted in YELLOW span the 01/03/2001. For vehicles registered before this date, EEC will supply a standard or type approved catalyst at the customers request. For vehicle registered after, EEC can only supply a Type Approved part.

Part numbers and applications highlighted in GREEN are not affected by R103 legislation, so a standard catalyst can be supplied and fitted. However, a type approved catalyst may also be supplied at the customer’s request so check our guide to see if a type approved part is available.

For purposes of clarity ‘Y’ registration and onwards vehicles will require a Type Approved catalyst whereas ‘X’ registration an older will not. However, a Type Approved catalyst can be used on any vehicle, irrespective of age.
